Principles and values
The principles and values of MUSAA are based on the intersection between feminism and environmentalism, seeking to create a holistic vision that promotes gender equity, environmental justice, and sustainability. Here they are presented:
-
Ecofeminism: We are convinced that ecofeminist thinking offers a comprehensive and accurate proposal to question and confront the capitalist and patriarchal system.
-
Feminist Pedagogy: We need to transform traditional educational practices to promote gender equity and social justice. We aim to question and overcome gender inequalities present in educational systems and society in general.
-
Regeneration: To enable planetary restoration, allowing the cycles of Nature to be reestablished and simultaneously restoring the social fabric.
-
Critical and Ethical Thinking: To redefine how we perceive human life and Nature and build knowledge based on eco-dependence and interdependence.
-
Popular Education: To facilitate the collective sharing of information and promote learning and awareness among marginalized or excluded social groups, with the purpose of empowering them and promote their active participation in society.
-
Voluntary Simplicity: To adopt a conscious and balanced approach to our consumption habits, aligning ourselves with planetary boundaries. We reject the idea of growth and development imposed by the capitalist economic system.
-
Active Non-Violence (NoVA) and Self-Defense: As a tools to express, demand, and denounce all forms of violence, social inequalities, and harm to the environment imposed by the capitalist and patriarchal system, from the perspective of human rights and values.
In MUSAA, we are guided by a vision of social and environmental justice that seeks to balance the relationships between human beings and Nature.
